Lian Lo,
Engagement Advisor
Lian lives on traditional xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) land as an uninvited guest and holds familial ties to indigenous Formosans.
They first joined Health Justice as a member of the Lived Experience Experts Group and feels privileged to witness firsthand the strengths brought by this unique governance model. Her approach is reflective of her own formative experiences, including spending extensive time in psychiatric and government care. They promote autonomy-driven practices with an emphasis on building equitable, relational systems by empowering youth and other underrepresented voices. Alongside this work, she is involved in various quality improvement projects for pediatric mental health services. Lian regularly contributes to crisis care policies for the province and advocates for apt transitional supports for her fellow foster siblings. She continually holds onto hope for a more just future.
In her downtime, you can find Lian wandering neighbourhood cafés in deep search of the perfect London Fog, climbing (and collecting) rocks, shouting along to Jeopardy!, or immersing herself in existential musings.
